Bringing together the best of Nairobi’s rock bands, The GoDown hosted three editions of the “Showdown @ The GoDown”, the annual highlight of smaller monthly competitions known as the Battle of the Bands. 

The main objective of the competition was to promote local rock bands and strengthen the culture of live music performance. It mainly catered to the rapidly growing rock music fan base and placed a spotlight on the thriving rock music scene. The selection process of the band was done in conjunction with the Rock Society of Kenya, a registered body with membership consisting of majority of Nairobi’s rock bands.
