Peterson Kamwathi
Through drawing, printmaking and sculpture, Kamwathi’s artistic practice is a journey that probes into the grouping rituals within contemporary society. Using the imagery of collective gatherings such as queues and crowds he explores the physicality, modes of behavior, embedded symbolisms and likely meanings that can be extracted from human groupings, social customs and collective political/religious patterns. In his current work Kamwathi looks at the discernability of the individual as situated in what would ordinarily be the concealing veil of a group.
In Kenya, Kamwathi is represented by One Off gallery- Nairobi.
