The GoDown Arts Centre hosted this insightful cartoon exhibition on Somalia in 2011.
The exhibition which ran from the 2nd to the 30th of April was organized by The Association of East African Cartoonists (KATUNI). A panel discussion with the theme “The Search for Peace in Somalia: Achievements and Challenges” was part of the launch event at which H.E. Mohamed Ali Nur, then Ambassador of the Somali Republic, was guest of honour.
A successful call for cartoon entries had been made in preparation for the exhibition, with more than 1000 cartoons submitted at various drop-off points in Nairobi and via email.
A short documentary filmed in Mogadishu was also screened during the event.
